The brief and our approach:

We have reimagined an Edwardian Mid Terrace design: Nestled amidst the charming streets of South West London, an Edwardian mid-terrace property has undergone a remarkable transformation, shedding its traditional cloak to embrace a modern and functional identity. The refurbishment project, orchestrated by a team of skilled architects and interior designers, seamlessly blends contemporary design with the original fabric of the house, creating a light-filled and airy haven for its occupants.

The heart of the transformation lies in the creation of a full open-plan layout, achieved by relocating the kitchen to the front of the house. This bold move not only enhances the flow of the living space but also bathes the area in natural light, fostering a sense of spaciousness and tranquility. The once-confined kitchen transforms into a central hub for family gatherings and culinary adventures, seamlessly blending into the dining and living areas.

Ascending to the first floor, one encounters three thoughtfully designed bedrooms and two modern bathrooms, each carefully tailored to the needs of the family. The top floor, once underutilized, has been extended into the loft, creating a luxurious master suite. This private sanctuary features an en suite bathroom and bespoke wardrobe, providing an oasis of relaxation and rejuvenation.

Throughout the refurbishment, the design team remained mindful of the property’s Edwardian heritage, carefully preserving the original features that lend it its unique character. This delicate balance between respecting the past and embracing the future is evident in the use of contemporary materials and finishes that complement the existing architectural elements. The result is a harmonious blend of old and new, creating a home that is both stylish and timeless.

With a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces, Studio FADE has breathed new life into this cherished property, ensuring that it will continue to grace the streets of South West London for generations to come.
